Minor injuries to horse and 2 drivers in New Tecumseth collision

There was some unplanned horsing around in New Tecumseth, and thankfully no serious injuries as a result.

Ontario Provincial Police were called around 10:15 Monday morning to the 7th Line and 15th Sideroad about a two-vehicle collision involving a horse trailer.

The trailer overturned, containing a 21-year-old horse named Dante.

"With the assistance of New Tecumseth Fire, Simcoe County Paramedics, Two Tack Emergency Medical Services and a local veterinarian, the horse was removed from the trailer safely with minor injuries," police said in a news release.

The drivers of the motor vehicles suffered minor injuries and remained on the scene.

The investigation into the collision is continuing.
