Two people hospitalized after assault in Wasaga Beach

Investigators believe there are witnesses who may have cell phone video footage of the incident

Huronia West OPP is investigating what they say was a serious assault involving numerous victims in Wasaga Beach.

Police say they responded to a 9-1-1 call just after midnight on Friday about a serious assault in progress on River Avenue Crescent. Police, Wasaga Beach Fire and County of Simcoe paramedics attended the scene. A large crowd of youth were located on the street but quickly disperesed. Two people were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe there are witnesses to the incident who may be in possession of cell phone video footage and are looking to speak to those inviduals.

Police are also asking residents in the area who may have home surveillance footage to please review it and contact police if anything is observed that may be able to assist with the investigation.
