Residents of two north Barrie homes have had to make alternate living arrangements after a pair of residential fires.

A fire department spokesperson told Barrie 360 that crews were called to Hickling Trail to deal with a fire caused by cooking.

There were no injuries.

Just after midnight, firefighters arrived at a Jeffrey Street home to deal with what a fire official said was an unknown issue with a furnace.

The damages caused by the fires are unknown, and neither fire is considered suspicious.
