Housing prices and sales in the Barrie-area were slightly higher in May
The Barrie and District Association of Realtors has broken down the numbers for Barrie and Simcoe County.
It says the average price in Barrie was $493,083 – 2.8 percent better than a year ago. Sales were up 29.6 percent with 245 units sold.
Just outside of Barrie the average price was up 3.9 percent to just under $519,000. Sales were running 26.7 percent ahead of last year with 508 units changing hands.
And mortgage money is looking not bad these days. A five-year fixed-rate plan is below three percent – the lowest mark in a couple of years.
Time of year plays into this with mortgage companies making adjustments to ensure they meet their annual targets.
