Southern Georgian Bay OPP say human remains discovered in wooded area on Sunday near the intersection of South Bay Road and Honey Harbour Road in Georgian Bay Township are those of a Thornbury man who had been missing for over five years.

Police say the remains were found in the area where the 60-year-old was last seen on Oct. 17, 2018.

The remains were located by a volunteer organization called Please Bring Me Home.

Foul play is not suspected in the man's death.
