Ontario Provincial Police are assisting with an investigation into possible human remains found Tuesday afternoon by a contractor working on a property located on Tiny Beaches Road South in Tiny Township.
A resident alerted police to the discovery.
The scene has also been investigated by a forensic anthropologist from the Office of the Chief Coroner.
"Initial investigation has yielded information that would suggest that this discovery may be historical in nature," police said in a news release on Thursday.
Investigators stated there is no threat to public safety.
