OPP responded to a fail-to-remain report in Wasaga Beach at approximately 3:56 p.m. on Friday.
The driver allegedly collided with another vehicle and hit a pedestrian on River Road West. There were no injuries as a result, but the suspect was not at the scene when police arrived.
An officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle, pulled them over and made the arrest. Further investigation found the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The 34-year-old Wasaga Beach man was charged with impaired driving and failure to remain; in addition to the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He will appear in a Collingwood court on April 28th.
