Impaired driving charge laid following false claims of hit-and-run in Innisfil

Tip from the public also led to another impaired driving arrest

A Bradford man is looking at charges after police say he tried to pull a fast one at the scene of a crash.

South Simcoe Police were contacted around 8:30 a.m. Saturday with reports of a fail-to-remain collision on the 10th Sideroad and 14th Line of Innisfil. Officers arrived on the scene and said they determined the vehicle involved was not struck by another, but veered out of control and collided with a guard rail. The driver who called in to report it as a hit-and-run was arrested for impaired driving.

Meanwhile, a vehicle over on Sunday evening after receiving a tip about a possible impaired driver in Bradford. The vehicle was tracked down on Simcoe Road and the driver was taken into custody and charged.
