Innisfil Community Foundation announces partnership that allows $75,000 to be dispersed among local charities

Funding coming from Federal Government

The Innisfil Community Foundation is getting a leg up on assisting local initiatives thanks to federal funding.

The Foundation announced today it has agreed to a partnership with Community Foundations of Canada, the United Way, and the Canadian Red Cross, which will allow it to provide $75,000 to support local charities responding to COVID-19. The funding is coming by way of the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund.

“This is a vital next step in the fight against COVID-19,” says Sandra Rizzardo, Chair of the Innisfil Community Foundation Board of Directors. “I’m proud to share that Innisfil Community Foundation has already granted over $50,000 to 11 local charities that have been working tirelessly in our community. This additional funding will help us support even more organizations hard at work here in Innisfil. We’re looking forward to flowing funds quickly to ensure no one in our community is left behind.”

Starting today, Innisfil Community Foundation will begin accepting applications for funding. Grants can be used for a variety of purposes, including to cover staffing or resource needs, purchase assistance, and more. Funding will be issued on an ongoing basis through July 2020. Charities and community organizations should visit the Foundation’s website for eligibility and application details.
