Innisfil man facing stunt driving charge after cops clock vehicle at nearly double the limit

Licence suspended, vehicle impounded

An Innisfil man has an upcoming court appearance scheduled after police say he hit a speed nearly double the posted limit.

An officer was out on patrol around 9 a.m. on August 3, along Mill Street near Brentwood Road in Angus, when a vehicle approached. The officer’s radar confirmed it was travelling at a speed of 117 kilometres an hour. The posted limit in that area is 60.

The driver, a 57-year-old, was charged with stunt driving. The vehicle was impounded and his licence was suspended, both for seven days.
