The square includes an ice skating trail, splash pad, fire pit, playground, and stage and event space

Release from Town of Innisfil

Community members are invited to join the fun at the grand opening of the new Innisfil Town Square. As the kick-off to Winter Weekends, festivities begin on January 27 and continue throughout the weekend with live music, food, free skate rentals, and entertainment the whole family can enjoy.

The Town Square is located between Lakeside Retirement and the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch at 971 Innisfil Beach Road. The space brings together a number of amenities desired by residents, including an ice-skating trail, splash pad, fire pit, playground, and stage and event space. There are also washrooms, multiple seating options, and accessible paths connecting each of the major features.

The grand opening kicks off at 5:20 p.m. on January 27 with a performance by TEAM T&J followed by speeches and a ribbon cutting, a fire performance, and live music. Entertainment and family activities continue on January 28 starting at 10 a.m. with pop-up recreation programming, face painting, fun characters to meet and greet, and more. Free on-site skate rentals will be available all weekend long from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 27 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on January 28 and 29.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation in support of the Troy Scott Community Fridges or Innisfil Food Bank to receive special Innisfil swag while quantities last.

Parking in the area is limited and people are encouraged to walk or take advantage of the complimentary shuttle service to make the most of the day. The shuttle service will operate on an approximate eight-minute loop from Innisfil Beach Park (Lot “B”) to Innisfil Town Square on January 27 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and January 28 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

More information about the Innisfil Town Square and a detailed schedule of events is available at www.innisfil.ca/TownSquare.
