The Town of Innisfil is working on developing a Transit Master Plan. This 10-year plan will support the evolution of transit services in town to meet the current and future needs of the community.

In 2017, the Town launched Innisfil Transit. This innovative program offers an alternative to traditional public transit by providing Innisfil residents with subsidized, on-demand ridesharing across town through a partnership with Uber. The Transit Master Plan will evaluate the success of this program and other options that could work for a municipality of Innisfil’s size and composition. Left Turn Right Turn Ltd. (LTRT) has been hired to consult on this work. LTRT is an accessibility and transit consultant firm that has previously worked on transit projects for the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, the City of Vaughan, the Town of Gravenhurst, and others.

“We’re aiming to improve access to transit for Innisfil residents. To do so, we need to hear from the community,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “What do you like about our current transit system? What are your pain points? What do you want to see in the future? We have a community survey open right now asking these questions, and I encourage all Innisfil residents who care about transit in our town to participate.”

The Town is asking residents to share their transit challenges, experiences, and input for future transit priorities through a community survey. Survey respondents can also enter to win a $100 gift card to the Innisfil store of their choice (terms and conditions apply). The survey will remain open until January 24, 2025, and can be completed online at getinvolvedinnisfil.ca/transit or in person at Town Hall and all three Innisfil ideaLAB & Library branches.
