Just three cases of COVID-19 added to Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit caseload overnight

Two from Bradford-West Gwillimbury, one from Innisfil

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 have been added to its caseload since Tuesday’s update, as the number of cases locally continues a downward slide.

A young boy under age ten and a woman in her 40s, both from Bradford-West Gwillimbury, as well as a man in his 50s from Innisfil, represent the latest additions.

The region’s epidemic curve shows a clear reduction in the number of cases added daily, from a height of 20 cases announced on April 29.

The SMDHU also confirmed another four recoveries in our region on Wednesday afternoon; according to the health unit, 84.5 percent of all its cases have recovered to date. That represents 426 people.

To date, the region has lost 36 lives, but the health unit has not reported a death in connection to COVID-19 since May 20.
