Heinz has tried to settle a long-running debate: does ketchup belong in the fridge?

In stores, the condiment is stored on shelves, not in the fridge.
However, the Heinz UK Twitter account has recommended keeping it refrigerated once opened.

Many don't agree with this saying cold condiments are subpar.
There is the argument that restaurants keep their ketchup on the counter, while others point out that restaurants go through it quickly enough that it won't get old.

The company then started a Twitter pole showing 54.5% for keeping it in the fridge versus 45.5% for the cupboard.

That's a very close call.

To get their message across, the company is giving away a Heinz mini fridge, the perfect place to store the condiment.
