Barrie police are seeking a suspect after they responded around 10 a.m. Friday to a report of a robbery at the Georgian Mall in Barrie.
"Witnesses reported that a male had taken a quantity of cash from a kiosk in the mall, and when confronted, assaulted a bystander, before fleeing through an exit towards Stanley Street, and made his way towards Bayfield Street," according to a news release from police.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the robbery or assault is asked to contact Constable Dave Edgar at dedgar@barriepolice.ca or by calling 705-725-7025.
"Police encourage the public to call police if they witness a crime in progress, and to be mindful of their own safety at all times," the news release stated.
