Barrie police have charged one person and are seeking a second suspect in connection with a stabbing on Friday afternoon.
Police say officers arrived in the area of Tiffin Street and Essa Road shortly after 4 p.m. and located a 34-year-old victim with a "serious injury," where they learned a male and female linked to the incident fled the scene on foot, and were believed to still be in the nearby vicinity.
Uniformed officers, the tactical support unit, canine, forensic identification and detectives set up a containment and secured the crime scene.
"Within 13 minutes and after a brief foot chase, a 26-year-old male was located, arrested, and transported to Barrie police headquarters, where the investigation continued," police stated in a news release.

The accused was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and breach of recognizance.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing that is scheduled for Monday.
Police are seeking the arrest of a 34-year-old female.
Police add the incident was isolated in nature and that there was no threat to public safety.
