It didn't take long for Barrie Police to track down a suspect wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Police were alerted around 10 on Monday night that the man was believed to be headed to the Barrie-area from Timmins, and that he was travelling with a female and her 17-month-old child, both of whom had been reported missing earlier in the evening to Timmins Police. As well, Barrie Police were provided with a vehicle description and licence plate.
About half-hour later, a sharp-eyed officer spotted the car as it turned onto Bell Farm Road from Duckworth Street. A traffic stop was initiated and a 22-year-old man was arrested for parole violations in regard to the warrant. Police determined the vehicle was stolen. Officers also found a number of suspected drugs and an edged weapon.
