A man has life-threatening injuries after he was electrocuted during an incident in Gravenhurst.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say first responders were alerted around 5:30 p.m. Monday about an "escalating" incident in a parking lot at 5 Pineridge Gate. Witnesses told officers that a male was in the parking lot and had caused significant damage to more than one vehicle.

Police said the man then moved to the rear of the parking lot and was able to gain access to a fenced area containing high-voltage equipment which he allegedly damaged and was electrocuted.

"Due to the complexity of the situation and present risks, accessing the area to apply medical care was tedious," OPP stated in a news release.

The man, who was transported to hospital, has not been identified, police said.

He is described as white, between 20-30 years of age, and he was wearing a red and black crew neck shirt and red track pants.

Police are asking anyone in the area who may have information or video surveillance to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-800-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or online at www.crimestopperssdm.com if you wish to remain anonymous.
