Man killed in single-vehicle rollover in Springwater Township

Cause of the crash is under investigation

Huronia West OPP is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a man near Barrie on Wednesday evening.

First responders were called around 7 p.m. about a vehicle rollover on Vespra Valley Road, north of Snow Valley Road.

When police, fire and paramedics got to the scene, they found a black Chrysler 200 with a lone male occupant with no vital signs. Despite extensive life saving efforts by emergency personnel, police say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name is being withheld pending family notification.

Vespra Valley Road between Mayer Road and Snow Valley Road has been closed for the investigation.

Police are asking for any witnesses or anyone who may be in possession of dash cam footage to review it and contact them if anything is observed that may be able to assist with the investigation.
