Man removed from downtown Barrie establishment allegedly had a gun

Police have not provided a description of the person

Barrie Police are seeking the help of the public in identifying a man who allegedly brandished a handgun after being removed by staff at an establishment located on Dunlop Street East.

Police say this happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday.

Communications coordinator Peter Leon told Barrie 360 that the canine unit did a search in case the weapon was discarded but nothing was found.

The name of the establishment was not released and police did not provide a description of the person.
