Man injured in stabbing: Barrie police

Police say there was an altercation inside the lobby of a medical building

An altercation between two men in downtown Barrie landed one of them in hospital with serious injuries.

Police spokesperson Peter Leon tells Barrie 360 that officers were called around 7 a.m. Tuesday to 49 High Street near Dunlop Street West about a man who had been injured in an altercation inside the lobby of a medical building.

The 41-year-old victim was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for treatment of stab wounds.

A 34-year-old man was arrested nearby and has been charged with assault with a weapon.

Both individuals are from Barrie.
