A man and a woman from Toronto perished in that fiery crash in Bradford late Thursday morning.

South Simcoe Police say the 84-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman were in a Lexus northbound on County Road 27 at Line 3 when a southbound Lexus entered the northbound lane and plowed into the other vehicle. As a result of the collision, a fire broke out in the northbound vehicle as it came to a stop. Motorists rendered assistance prior to the arrival of first responders.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 28-year-old Brampton man, is in a Toronto trauma centre with critical injuries.

Police hope to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to investigators. They are also appealing to anyone who was travelling on County Road 27 who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicles prior, or anyone with dash cam footage, to contact South Simcoe Police.
