The trend has been growing for over a year, with dentists across the US saying people are begging for metal braces instead of the less noticeable options like Invisalign.
Adults who never had braces growing up but need them are happily choosing the classic " train track" look.
Dentists say the upside to metal braces instead of aligners is that patients don't need to worry about inserting their braces daily, whereas aligners rely on the patient's perfect compliance.
Even those who don't need braces order fake ones through online stores purely because they're in fashion.

Dentists warn against non-medical tooth gear as it could cause serious damage to your teeth.
In the meantime, if you need braces or have a teen entering that stage in their life, you can rest easy knowing it's not the nerdy stereotype anymore.
