Southern Georgian Bay OPP say two people face assault and drug charges following a disturbance call at a Midland motel.
On Thursday, October 13, just before 2:30 a.m., police responded to the location on King Street.
Officers say upon arrival, they entered into an assault investigation involving three individuals, which lead to a drug investigation.
OPP seized Canadian currency, cocaine, opioids, and drug paraphernalia.
A 33-year-old Whitby woman and a 31-year-old Mississauga woman were charged with:
- Robbery with theft
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine (two counts)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)
The second accused also faces an additional charge of:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
They were released and are scheduled for a court appearance on November 3.
OPP say a 43-year-old Penetanguishene man was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained from the assault.
