Power is being restored in the Port McNicoll, Midland, and Victoria Harbour areas after a vehicle struck and downed Hydro One power lines on Saturday.
Around 1:30 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to the report near the intersection of Triple Bay Road and Highway 12 in Tay Township.
At the time, police closed local roads to the incident, but said Sunday morning that Highway 12 between Old Fort Road to Triple Bay Road/Rumney Road at Elliott Sideroad (Port McNicoll) was reopened.
Hydro One says that 8,700 customers were without power.
NT Power reported early Sunday that power was returning to those impacted.
