Millions hit the streets in Wuhan, China as 76-day lockdown lifted

Though not everything is back to normal

The 76-day lockdown was lifted today with millions of people hitting the streets, many wearing masks.

They went back to work. Some headed out of town on planes, trains and buses – so long as a smartphone app showed they are healthy and have not been in recent contact with anyone confirmed to have the virus

Not everything is back to normal.

Schools are still closed.

And people’s temperatures are being checked before they enter buildings.

Restrictions in the city where most of China’s more than 82,000 virus cases and over 3,300 deaths from COVID-19 were reported have been gradually eased as the number of new cases steadily declined.

The government reported no new cases in the city on Wednesday.
