If your drinking water supply draws from South Beaver Creek, Sparrow Lake, or McLean’s Bay in the Washago to Gravenhurst areas, give your water a second glance before consuming.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says a small diesel spill in the area may have impacted private drinking water supplies in these bodies of water. If the water has a sheen to it, don’t drink.
Due to a small diesel fuel spill in South Beaver Creek we are advising those that use water from South Beaver Creek, Sparrow Lake and McLean’s Bay to use another water source. The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks is monitoring the clean-up. https://t.co/gdWS9hYhRo— SMDHU (@SMDhealthunit) February 10, 2020
