MNR seeks help after fish hut and garbage left on Muskoka lake

Ice hut was abandoned on Mary Lake

The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NDMNRF) is asking for the public’s help with identifying the individuals responsible for unlawfully leaving their fishing hut and garbage on the ice in Muskoka.

On April 1st, 2022, Conservation Officers responded to a tip from a member of the public regarding a fishing hut that had been abandoned on Mary Lake near the town of Huntsville, just off the North Mary Lake Road. Officers believe the fishing hut was placed at that location near the end of February.

If you have any information that will assist Conservation officers in their investigation, please call the ministry TIPS line toll free at 1-877-847-7667 or contact your local ministry office. You can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
