Marvel Studios drops first trailer for Moon Knight

Excited for another Marvel show?

After being announced way back in 2019, Marvel has finally given us our first look at the psychologically driven Moon Knight.

A former U.S. marine, struggling with dissociative identity disorder, is granted the powers of an Egyptian moon god. But he soon finds out that these newfound powers can be both a blessing and a curse to his troubled life.

Starring Oscar Isaac in the leading role, you won’t be watching Moon Knight on the big screen because it’s another series coming straight to Disney Plus. It also has another exciting name attached to it with Ethan Hawke playing the role of Arthur Harrow, a cult leader encouraging Marc Spector (Moon Knight) to embrace his inner darkness. According to Hawke, the role is inspired by cult leader David Koresh, who was the leader of the Branch Davidians which eventually led to the Waco Siege in 1993.

If you have been enjoying the slate of television shows from Marvel’s Phase Four, there’s even more good news. Studio President Kevin Feige has confirmed that Moon Knight (along with others, like the upcoming She-Hulk), is being developed with the potential for additional seasons. This is in contrast to shows like WandaVision which were developed as limited series, albeit leading into feature films instead.

Disney’s recent run of live-action television shows has been pretty stellar with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye all receiving high praise and a lot of love from fans. Currently, the lowest-rated show is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and it’s sitting at 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

You’ll have to wait a little longer to check this one out though. Moon Knight stars streaming on Disney Plus on March 30.
