Motorcycle collision closes Highway 27 at Phelpston

A 17-year-old Barrie teen was airlifted to hospital in Toronto after a motorcycle collision this morning on Highway 27 at Phelpston.

Huronia West OPP were called to the scene around 5:30 a.m.

It is believed that the motorcycle left the road and collided with a sign in the ditch sometime around 1:00 a.m.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists are assisting with the investigation. As a result, County Road 27 is expected to be closed for several hours between Flos Road 4 and Flos Road 3. The closure also includes Ellery Side Road West from Highway 93 to Marshall Road. Traffic detours are located at Highways 93 and 12 and Highway 93 at Ebenezer Side Road.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or possesses dashcam footage is asked to contact the Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
