Motorcycle passenger killed in crash in Springwater

OPP upgrade charges after driver dies of injuries in Highway 12 crash near Gambridge

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a motorcycle passenger.

Around 5:45 Saturday afternoon, police responded to a report of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle on George Johnston Road near Sunnidale Road, north of County Road 90.

The passenger on the motorcycle, aged 31, was killed, and the driver of the bike, a 41-year-old, was airlifted with life-threatening injuries to a Toronto trauma centre. The 71-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle sustained minor injuires.

George Johnston Road was closed for several hours between Seadon Road and Sunnidale Road.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
