Updated April 19, 2024 @ 5:08pm

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a motorist with dangerous driving in connection with a collision on Highway 400 south of Barrie Friday morning that injured a woman and her child.

Around 8 a.m. near Innisfil Beach Road, police say a vehicle was reportedly driving erratically which resulted in a collision and sent a second vehicle rolling over into a ditch.

The mother and child in the second vehicle were transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries then released.

For a time, Highway 400 was closed in both directions between Mapleview Drive and Innisfil Beach Road.
