Multiple reports suggest Ontario headed for full lockdown by week’s end

Lockdown could last four weeks

Toronto media, citing numerous sources, suggest Ontario is headed for a full lockdown as of the end of the coming week.

If the sources are correct, all of Ontario south of Sudbury would enter a lockdown, similar to what we experienced in the spring, for a period of 28 days. The duration of the lockdown north of Sudbury would be 14 days.

Nothing has been confirmed by Queen’s Park. Premier Ford said Friday he would be announcing new restrictions on Monday.

The province reported another 2,316 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, and an additional 25 deaths. More than 69,400 tests were completed. There are 875 patients in hospital, down from the more than 900 reported last week.
