Nottawasaga OPP say they are investigating a firearm-related incident that left one person dead in Alliston - the incident has been ruled a murder.
On Friday just before 6:30 a.m., OPP and emergency services responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Kidd Crescent.
Police say a 38-year-old female was located outside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds.
She was transported to hospital, and was pronounced deceased.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
OPP say a post-mortem is scheduled today at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.
There will be an increase of police activity in the area as OPP Central Region Crime Units continue the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
