Mystical Lights In Oro-Medonte Opens December 1st

It's Going To Be A Winter Wonderland!
Mystical Lights 2022

Last year, the Oro-Medonte Chamber of Commerce & Tourism filled the Oro-Medonte Fairgrounds with over 55,000 lights to create a magical winter wonderland. The event was started as a way to help the community safely celebrate the holidays at a time when many parades were still being put on hold.

While many of these parades are back up and running this year, the Chamber decided to continue with the event thanks to its first year success.

This year, drivers will make their way to Santa’s House by way of Frosty’s Tunnel and Candy Cane Lane. Once there, you can say “Hi” to Santa, enjoy delicious hot chocolate and cookies and take some selfies.

Throughout your drive you will be able to take in dozens of displays set up by local businesses. In addition to the many light displays, the Chamber is also welcoming floats from local parades to park within the fairgrounds so that there’s even more for attendees to enjoy.

From December 1st to 18th, the event will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 9 pm. During the week leading up to Christmas, you’ll be able to check out the displays every night. Mystical Lights will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but will open again from December 27 until January 1. By this time, Santa will have returned to the North Pole. That means he won’t be able to attend during the last few dates.

Tickets are purchased for a specific day. While no refunds are available for weather conditions or other reasons, you can choose to attend on a different day.

Tickets are $15 per vehicle including HST and can be purchased online in advance or at the gate. The Chamber will also be collecting non-perishable food and pet food. Items will be donated to The Sharing Place Food Centre and The Salvation Army.

The Mystical Lights Drive Thru is a great way to enjoy the holiday season. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, be sure to visit!
