Nearly $1,000 in Scratch-and-Wins Swiped in About Five Hours

Six Stores Victimized in One Evening

Cops are on the hunt for a man accused of swiping nearly a grand worth of lottery tickets from Orillia stores in a few hours’ time.

The Orillia OPP say the guy went into six different stores around town between 6:00 and 11:00 Wednesday evening, stealing almost $1,000 worth of tickets and some cigarettes too. Police say he casually approached a cashier in each case, asking for some scratch tickets. Investigators claim he’d then grab a fist full of tickets before running off.
