A trio of new scholarships have been established, honouring the decades of work by a youth mental health advocate.
The Glen Newby Scholarship Fund is a collaborative effort between the New Path Foundation and New Path Youth and Family Sevices, created to honour New Path’s former head honcho. “This scholarship honours the legacy of the former CEO of New Path, Glen Newby, who was tireless in his advocacy for young people,” says James Thomson, President and CEO of New Path Foundation. “Our commitment is to continue to build on this work by providing additional opportunities for youth to succeed in either their post-secondary or apprenticeship studies.”
There are three scholarships available; one in the amount of $2,500, with two at $1,250 each. Applications are now being accepted, and are available to youth up to the age of 24, so long as you’re living in Simcoe County, starting or continuing post-secondary studies or apprenticeships.
