Usher in the New Year over and over with this cool website

Because one countdown just isn't good enough.
New Year over and over

Created by TimeandDate, this website will let you celebrate the New Year over and over in one night!

The website is pretty simple, it has a countdown timer counting down to the first time 2022 touches the Earth! Once it hits zero, it plays a little 8-bit fireworks display, and you can then jump to the next time zone and join in on their New Year's celebration as well! So, whether you want to celebrate here, London, Moscow, or St. John's (or all of them), this website will let you do just that.

You can even use the site to create a custom little timer for yourself like this:

The people who host this website are also big time nerds (not big-time nerds) and they have shared some fun trivia about the new year:

  • Due to the earth spinning faster, 2022 will begin a whopping 65 milliseconds early!
  • The Quadrantids, a meteor show that peaks in early January, can produce 110 shooting stars per hour (in case you missed the fireworks).
  • Oddly, it actually takes 26 hours for the New Year to reach all time zones across the planet.
  • In total, 2022 will start in 38 different time zones around the world.
