The City of Barrie is declaring a Winter Maintenance Event overnight tonight to allow crews to effectively clear the streets from the recent snowfall.

This means that on-street parking is not allowed tonight on City streets from 12:01 to 7 a.m., and from 3 to 6 a.m. within the Downtown Business Improvement Area (Wednesday, December 25).

On-street parking will be allowed tomorrow night on City streets from 12:01 to 7 a.m., and from 3 to 6 a.m. within the Downtown Business Improvement Area (Thursday, December 26).

The City has winter maintenance crews on standby to address road conditions accordingly. Staff monitor the weather closely and plows, salters and sanders are dispatched as needed.

Use Barrie’s Plow Tracker to view snow clearing progress in your neighbourhood.
