A man reported to have been exposing himself on multiple occasions near Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie was arrested by Barrie Police Tuesday evening.
Police received a report regarding a male observed with his pants down near the Barrie Marina building. Further information indicated he had exposed himself and stood in a nearby garden while he redressed.
When officers arrived on-scene, witnesses directed them to the male who was arrested near an ice cream business on Lakeshore Drive. He was subsequently brought to Barrie Police Headquarters where detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division continued the investigation.
The investigation ended with the 36-year-old being charged with three counts of indecent act. He is in custody ahead of a bail hearing scheduled to take place today by video.
Earlier reports related to this suspect came to Barrie Police around 5 p.m. Monday, and twice on Tuesday, at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Those reports indicated the man was exposing himself to people walking on the waterfront pathway that runs from Minet's Point to Southshore Community Centre. He was able to evade responding officers following each incident.
"Although incidents like this are rare, Barrie police is advising people who use this popular waterfront trail to be aware of their surroundings at all times," police stated in a news release on Tuesday.
