A worthy cause to help kids with Autism and intellectual disabilities get active is being held in Barrie.
Good life fitness is hosting their 8th annual Spin4 Kids at 100 locations including Barrie on Saturday November 16th.
Anyone over 12 years old is invited to participate in classes such zumba, spin, body combat, and body attack.
Laura Haggart, GoodLife Kids Foundation Senior Specialist says children with autism have challenges when it comes to getting active. ” There are higher costs for adapted programs, lack of programs that suits their needs an accessible environments.”
Last year $5 thousand raised in Barrie was donated to the City’s Inclusive Services Program to run a sensory swim program.
This year the Barrie location hopes to raise $5 thousand, with a nationwide goal of $1 million.
Programs start at 8:30. The cost is free but participants are asked to raise a minimum of $125. If you can’t participate but would like to donate you can do so at spin4kids.com
The fundraiser is free to people 12 years or older. You don’t have to be a good life member Haggart says. Anyone can join. You can register online or show up to the centre.
