After an investigation that started over a week ago, members of the Nottawasaga OPP detachment have charged a 50-year-old Essa man with ten weapons-related offences.
The charges stem from an incident on March 22nd, when the OPP entered into an investigation regarding threats being uttered in the Angus area. A male was eventually arrested as a result, while police also seized a loaded firearm and ammunition.
The charges are as follows:
- Careless use of a firearm (carry/handle)
 - Careless Storage of a firearm
 - Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
 - Carry concealed weapon
 - Unauthorized possession of a firearm
 - Knowledge of possession of firearm
 - Possession of loaded firearm
 - Tampering with serial number of a firearm
 - Resist Peace Officer
 
The man was held for bail and remained in custody.
