Ontario reported 158 new COVID-19 cases, Toronto and Peel Region make up the bulk of new infections

Slight drop from Saturday's tally

There was a slight drop in new COVID-19 infections on Sunday as Ontario reported 158 new cases, down from 169 on Saturday.

Toronto was at the front of the pack with 49 new cases, with 44 in Peel and 21 in Ottawa.

This is the 11th day in a row where new cases have been in triple digits.

Province-wide, 29 of 34 public health units reported five or fewer cases, and of those, 20 reported no new cases.

Nearly 29,000 tests were processed in the past 24 hours.

There have been 43,161 COVID-19 cases in Ontario since the pandemic began in late January.
