Ontario woman among hurricane deaths in Bahamas

Dorian now drenching the Carolina coast, en route to Atlantic Canada

A Windsor-area native is among the 30 people killed in the Bahamas as a result of Hurricane Dorian.

Alishia Liolli, 27, ran a school for adults with disabilities.

Her husband and four children – a 17-month-old son among them – are safe.

A social media post says she died before help arrived.

Dorian, now a Category One storm with sustained winds of 130 kilometres an hour, spent the night lashing the Carolina coast.

It’s expected to hit the Maritimes this weekend, starting with Nova Scotia Saturday afternoon.
