Just to get your mind racing and your mouth watering, we'll let you in on some of the butter tarts you can expect at the festival: plain, raisin, pecan, walnut, skor, maple, bacon, coconut, chocolate covered, PB&J, s’mores, gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, cheesecake, pumpkin...and many more.
In addition to seemingly endless varieties of the sweet Canadian classic, the event will include food trucks, 200 vendors, buskers and entertainment.
Every year the festival grows in size and in turn, so does the demand for for more butter tarts. In 2013, the 10 000 butter tarts available at the festival sold out by 11 am. After a busy year in 2018 with 65 000 visitors, the festival is preparing to have 150 000 to 200 000 butter tarts available for sale at 2019's upcoming festival.

At the end of the day one special vendor will earn the title for "Best Butter Tart in Ontario". This contest is open to anyone, amateur or professional, who thinks they've got a killer recipe and want to share it with the world. A judging panel made up of celebrities, chefs, food bloggers and local dignitaries will take on the oh so very difficult job of sampling the submissions and voting on the best ones.
Don't forget about the annual "Butter Tart Trot" taking place as well. This is a 1 km, 5 km, 10 km or half-marathon run with tarts en route, swag, medals and chip timing. It's a fun route for runners of all levels. Sign up ahead of time if you're looking for a way to earn those tasty tarts.
Admission to the festival is absolutely free, so round up the troops and treat yourself yourselves on June 9th!
