OPP appealing for witnesses in dangerous driving investigation in Barrie

The Ontario Provincial Police are seeking witnesses as well as a female pedestrian who was nearly struck by a vehicle in Barrie, near Sadlon Arena.

"On July 19, 2023, at 10:17 a.m., a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) was observed proceeding through a red light while travelling northbound on Bayview Drive at the intersection of Concert Way. The SUV nearly struck a female pedestrian who was crossing Bayview Drive on the north side of the intersection," according to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.

The investigation is being conducted by the OPP Highway Safety Division Major Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
