OPP arrest suspect in connection with a violent assault in Wasaga Beach

Victim remains in critical but stable condition

A Toronto man who was the subject of an arrest warrant in connection with a violent assault in Wasaga Beach has been arrested.

OPP say they responded to a 9-1-1 call at an address on Cedar Grove Parkway on July 30 where they located a person inside the residence suffering from injuries. The person was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Police say a 39-year-old suspect was arrested Monday and has been charged with:

·       Assault with a weapon

·       Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·       Breach of Recognizance

·       Assault causing bodily harm

·       Assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle

·       Mischief - destroy or damages property

·       Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm

He was held for a bail hearing and released on a judicial release order.
