A Barrie teen has been charged in connection with a deadly single-vehicle crash this past spring in Oro-Medonte.

On May 6, 2023, around 11 p.m., first responders were called to a vehicle rollover on Ridge Road between Line 4 and Line 3 South, where they found four occupants in the car.

OPP say an 18-year-old Barrie man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second person was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries and two other occupants sustained minior injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 19-year-old man with careless driving causing death.

The accused has a court date in November.
