Peterborough County OPP say a motorist who claimed they were late for their own birthday has been charged with stunt driving.
Police say the driver was clocked travelling 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 7.
"At speeds like that, the 47-year-old from Markham is lucky to have reached that age at all," OPP said in a post on X.
Provincial police say their gift was a 14-day impound, a 30-day licence suspension, a future court date, and a safer road for all other drivers.
