A fraud investigation by Nottawasaga OPP resulted in the arrest and charge of one woman in connection after a complaint in Alliston.
Tuesday, just after 12:30 p.m., officers reported to a complaint of a fraud incident on King Street. The complainant believed that a customer was trying to open a bank account using fraudulent documents.
Police investigated and determined the woman was trying to open the account with a fraudulent identification and social insurance card. She was later found to be in possession of several other pieces of identification that weren't hers.
The 39-year-old from Scarborough was arrested and given nine charges including four counts of possession of a false identity document.
She was held for bail and set to appear in court at a later date.
